Max sat quietly in the bushes behind Jesse's house, waiting for the sound of Kai's shitty car. He was swaying on his feet, the visuals of the shrooms starting to kick in. Sweat beads began to form on his forehead, a trembling breath distorting in his ears. He watched Jesse step outside of the house, hearing their voices in the driveway. Max licked his dry lips, his line of sight falling on the grass. It was moving like little tentacles. A grin jumped onto his face, not hearing the car doors shut at first. But then Max hears them pull off the lot, and drive down the street. It was time.

He reached into his bag, pulling an 8 inch hunting knife, and his mask. He slips it onto his face, unlocking a primitive side of himself. The buzz of the shrooms either made him stealthier, or louder. There was no way of telling. Max then made his way through Jesse's back yard, and up the stairs of the back porch. The sound of a vaccuum cleaner inside reassured him that he wouldn't be heard all that easily.

He snuck inside through the back door, keeping low to the ground as to not make any large vibrations. Once again, he couldn't exactly tell if it was working. As he crept through the house, the walls throbbed around him. He looks up at Jesse's mom, standing in the living room. She had earbuds in- She couldn't hear him. He set his camera down, standing there until she noticed.

Kate turned around, seeing Max standing about a yard away. He gave her no time to think, lunging at her with his knife gripped firmly in his palm. He drove it into her stomach, the feeling of metal piercing flesh putting goosebumps on Max's arms. He licked his lips again from behind the mask, watching Kate drop off the end of his knife, her screams being warbled noise in his ears. Max leapt onto her, dropping the knife into her chest and sides. The blood looked so wrigly...

About 15 minutes later, after gutting her and leaving her insides out, Max sat back and enjoyed his art piece. The organs looked alive, moving and squirming in her body. His eyes dragged lathargically up the dead woman's body, stopping at her face. Her eyes were wide open and still. Max was practically panting like a dog, sweat dripping from his chin. Her tongue was half out of her mouth, and Max thought that she just looked so goofy. He wouldn't have been able to kill her without the mushrooms. He cared about Jesse's mom- She always treated him better than his own mom. Max felt bad about what he had to do, but Jesse needed some sort of catalyst or something. Whatever Knowingness said.

Max sat there for another 15 minutes. At some point, her phone started ringing, catching his attention. He saw it was Jesse's number, so he jumped up and threw his knife in his bag. As he made his way out of the way he came in, He heard the sound of a car in the driveway, followed by voices. Max began running, His feet beat hard against the ground, the wind in his face drying the blood spatter. He didn't know where he was running, but he knew Knowingness would grab him eventually.

Jesse's heart was pounding. He was hoping for the best, but he could feel it. This was the perfect oppourtunity, why wouldn't Max take it? Jesse was bouncing his leg and breathing heavily. Charlie looked back at him. Jesse kept staring at the floor.

"Listen- She's gonna be okay... Have you tried calling?"

"No- No I haven't." He says, bringing his phone out from his pocket. Within seconds, the phone was ringing... and ringing... and ringing. "She's not fucking answering..."

"We're almost there, just hold on." Kai said, stepping on the gas. Kate's phone went to voicemail as they pulled into the driveway. Jesse threw his door open, getting out and sprinting for the house.

"Jesse- Wait! We should-"

"Get the cops here, I know- Call them, tell them someone was killed.. Tell them I'm in there too." Jesse said as he threw himself through the front door. He calls out for his mom, noticing the back door's wide open. He turns and looks into the living room..

"...Oh my... God- MOM?!" Jesse croaked, tears forming in his eyes as he spots the disembowled corpse of his mom. He runs in, dropping to his knees right next to the body. "MOM- mom just look at me- please look at me, you're gonna be okay.. you're gonne be..."

Tears stream down his face as he raises a shaking hand to her face. The life is gone from her eyes- just dull bulbs plugged into her skull. He clenched his jaw, his vision growing blurry from the salty water in his eyes. Police sirens came into an audible distance, Jesse still looking down at his mother in agonizing strife. He balls his fists and throws his head back, letting out several desperate screams. The kind of raw, primitive screams of someone who has just lost a loved one.
