June 19th, 1951

The lantern flickered, the crisp sound of wind against the side of the barn being the only audible noise- that and the cicadas. The tall grass danced in the breeze, bleeding into the navy blue night sky. Adrain let his line of sight fall back down onto the ground before him. It was his 28th birthday, and it was the perfect night to summon a god- to ask for Evelyn in return for whatever he needed to dish out. His right index finger and thumb were playing with the leather journal's corner. He looked out into the woods around him. It was time.

Adrain set the book on the ground, unsheathing a knife and placing it to his left palm. The cold metal bit into his flesh, tearing a trench for which the blood to fill and overflow. Adrain winced, but it didn't matter. He kept his mind set on his intent; his sister's return. The blood dripped from his hand onto the page, where a large symbol was drawn on the pages. It was all for her. The blood soaked into the paper, a strange electricity filling the air around him.

"I call upon the fallen angel- Knowingness, come to me!"

Adrain cast his spoken word out into the field, an ounce of hope dwindling on the edge of his tongue as his voice disperses quickly through the open space. Would this even work? Everything was still, and his hand hurt. Adrain's breath grew heavy, the hair on the back of his neck standing up as a voice comes from behind.

"I see you received my message. How can I help you, Mr. Snyder?"

Adrain turned around, seeing the tall well dressed man- but this one wasn't faceless. His face was covered by a barn owl mask... or was it real? Adrain's vision was starting to blur from just looking at him. When attempting to speak, his voice was light and whispy, as if he couldn't inhale too far. It was time to make a deal with a modern prometheus.
